Do you know your goals on Medium? 🤔

Hope your day is going well.

I’m popping up to share one story that happened to me a few days ago.

I’ve got an email from a girl who said my Medium writing inspired her to pursue a writer’s career.

She reached out to me with a humble coaching request to help her learn how to write on Medium.

I asked her:

“What’s your motivation to do it? What do you want to achieve?” 🤔 

In a response, she started talking about her wants and future plans.

There is no evidence of what has already been done, past setbacks, and success stories.

After writing for 4 years on Medium, I learned the following:

A desire without an action plan, effort, and dedication won’t get you anywhere!

Asking questions is great!

Asking for help isn’t shameful.

However, you will only know what you need help with after succeeding and failing multiple times.

Medium changes fast. What worked a year ago no longer brings desired results. Trust me! I’ve tried many things.

However, writing on Medium for fun is never the ultimate goal!

You are probably doing it for a reason:

• Improve writing skills

• Build a personal brand

• Make money online

When I started, I wanted to make money from the Partner Program. That’s why I used to write 10-16 stories per month.

It was exhausting and didn’t pay off.

However, Medium helped me nail writing and build my personal brand.

I no longer write for the Medium Partner Program.

Instead, my goals are to land new clients and sell my products through Medium. Everything else is just a bonus.

The purpose of this newsletter is to make you answer one single question: What are your goals on Medium?
